WHO WE ARE:
Bill Malone
Bill Malone is a retired Major from the Army National Guard of the State of Texas. Throughout his 15 years of recruiting Bill was one of the most highly successful leaders of the Texas Army National Guard Recruiting Force. Not only was he a highly successful “on the street” Recruiter but also earned numerous leadership awards for services as a Team Leader for five years that was then followed by five highly successful years as the Recruiting and Retention Sergeant Major of Texas. Bill also brings ten years of sales experience and his 40 years of leadership and team building experience with the Active Duty and National Guard forces of the United States Army. Bill has served in leadership positions since he was commissioned an Infantry Lieutenant when he was nineteen. His vast military leadership experience comes from having served in every position from Sergeant to Sergeant Major and Lieutenant to Brigade Staff Officer. During this remarkable service Bill earned numerous awards including the Legion of Merit, 5 Bronze Stars with V for valor, the Purple Heart, 4 Meritorious Service Medals and various other awards for achievement and valor. One of his prized awards is his Master Recruiter designation. Since his retirement, Bill has contributed his extensive leadership experience and recruiting knowledge to State Army National Guard Recruiting Forces for MTCI while conducting Leadership Seminars and Leadership and Team Building Training for Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Leaders as well as training RRNCOs on the skill sets that will help them be successful.
Karen Hix
Ms. Karen Hix brings depth, variety, and connections from life and work experience to improve client success. As a cum laude undergraduate, and with a master’s degree in education, her career experience includes 15 years of Texas classroom teaching experience spanning all secondary grade levels in a cross section of district and campus sizes and locations; 10 years of paralegal experience with a large commercial law firm, and; 5 years of customer service and training experience. Recently, she combined her education, business, and technology experience as a self-employed contractor with Region XIII ESC to assist implementation of a Texas Education Agency TARGET Grant to train educators on integrating new technologies with traditional classroom learning. Her curriculum training includes Problem Based Learning, Instructional Technology, and Mastery-Based Learning. Her technology training includes on-line learning, multi-media presentation skills, and self-taught Microsoft software applications. She has created, implemented, and improved curriculum for a wide range of learning venues including adult workplaces, dropout prevention, and traditional classrooms. Presentations at local, regional, state, and national educational and military conferences include topics on literacy improvement, technology training, professional development, presentation skills, and school program improvement. MTCI employed Ms. Hix in 2005 as Education Support Specialist for the Texas Army National Guard, and currently as corporate Marketing and Business Developer. She has an innate creativity and natural ability to improve and maintain relationships among clients and peers. Karen knows recruiting and RRNCOs and not only understands them but knows what they need to be successful.
Craig Scrivner
Craig is a former Recruiter from the State of Texas. He was one of the most productive recruiters in the history of Texas Army National Guard Recruiting Force finishing in the TOP 10 for seventeen consecutive years. His career culminated as the Senior Instructor for Training and Development for the State of Texas. Since his retirement from the Texas Army National Guard, Craig has conducted a variety of recruiter training and leadership courses for the major recruiting and retention commands throughout the nation. His dynamic presentation skills, understanding of the recruiting profession for both the military and corporate environment, and his vast amount of experience in recruiting has drawn numerous accolades and recognition as the premier recruiter trainer in the country. Craig is proud that his clients include thirty-eight of the fifty-four states’ and territories’ Recruiting and Retention Forces and that he has eight of his client states in the top ten in the nation.
